Market Reports

As of December 3, 2021

Butcher cows traded at least $2-3 higher this week with cows finally breaking the $70 plateau. Decent dairy cows were $54-59 range. Bulls were fully steady this week with limited supply with good bulls trading up to $1. Feeder cattle traded fully steady across the board this week on the front end cattle. Anything off colour, showing stress, frozen parts or small framed is being discounted accordingly. Premiums are still being paid for top quality large framed cattle and cattle that are short framed or fleshy are getting discounted accordingly. Many local orders are drying up as we get closer to the Xmas shut down so orders are definitely more selective.  Once again Eastern orders were a force on most of the top end cattle weighing over 600 lbs. Light cattle suitable for going to grass next summer are trading very strong.
