Butcher cows traded sharply higher this week. We had 8 cow buyers on hand this week for our sale. Top kill cows were in the $166-176 range. Good feeding cows are still in excellent demand. Lean cows that have room to gain a couple hundred pounds before spring traded from $165-185 regardless of age. Good dairy cows traded from $133-150. Good bulls were fully steady this week with top bulls between $206-212. Just when most people thought the feeder cattle market was at its peak, things just seem to keep getting higher. This weeks sale saw feeder cattle trade an incredulous $20-25 higher on all classes. Some of the highlights from this weeks sale were a group of fancy black steer calves weighing 518@$526. Another group of blackx steers weighing 635 hit $449. Some charx steers weighing 797 hit $397.50. We also had good sim heifers weigh 585 bring $420. Buyers were a plenty. Please remember to give us a call on marketing strategies and when to move your livestock. We are more than willing to chat about market trends and prices.
