Market Reports

We will now be selling every Friday going forward until Xmas. Cows traded pretty much steady this week with quality considered as our previous sale. Good kill cows were in the $196-215 range with morning deliveries included in that mix. Good dairy cows traded $165-178. Poor, weak or very thin Holstein cows are very hard to move currently. Prices around $1 are common. Bulls were few and moderate in quality and topped out at $280. Feeder cattle were few, with a mixture of yearling cattle and fresh calves off the cows. Yearlings were shaky on quality and felt the impact of the shaky market the most. Very few calves on offer this week but 400-600 lb steer calves are in the $550-700 range.  As summer begins to wind down and the fall run becomes closer, please don't hesitate to call to find out a sale date that will suit your marketing schedule.

ALSO ANY ANIMALS THAT ARE LAME, BLIND, CARRYING RUPTURES ARE ALSO CONSIDERED COMPROMISED. SUCH ANIMALS WILL BE SUBJECT TO FINES IF DETECTED BY CFIA AT ALL AUCTION MARKETS.

Horned cattle are beginning to be discounted more and more all the time. If you want your cattle to bring a premium price they must be horn free.

If you are planning on selling calves in the next month or so, please call ahead to book your cattle with us. If we know how many cattle are coming it allows us to inform buyers so they can have adequate trucks available.

 A REMINDER TO PRODUCERS TO GET YOUR PREMISE ID NUMBERS FROM THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS GOING TO BECOME MANDATORY IN 2020. ALL PRODUCERS WILL NEED TO FILL OUT MANIFESTS WHENEVER THEY TRANSPORT CATTLE FROM HOME TO EITHER AUCTION MARTS OR PASTURES. THESE MANIFESTS WILL HAVE TO INCLUDE YOUR PREMISE ID NUMBERS AS PART OF THE NEW NATIONAL TRACIBILITY PROGRAM.
